The patches are made of elastic polyurethane. It's used for small wounds and scratches. The patches are dirt repellent, hypoallergenic, elastic and breathable. They attach tightly but gently. The wound pad is polypropylene treated, viscous and absorbent. It doesn't stick to the wound and it's not irritating.

Usage: Apply to dry, clean skin. Don't take the blister plaster off until it comes off by itself. Give the blister time to heal. The wound is protected from infection as long as it's covered with a blister plaster.

Virtsan ketoaineiden seuranta

Virtsassa mahdollisesti esiintyvä ketoaine, asetetikkahappo eli asetoasetaatti, antaa tietoa hiilihydraatti- ja rasva-aineenvaihdunnasta. Jos verensokeri on korkea, ketoaineet virtsassa ovat merkki insuliininpuutteesta. Insuliinin puuttuessa elimistö ei pysty käyttämään sokeria energianlähteenään vaan polttaa rasvoja. Kuitenkin ilman sokereiden samanaikaista palamista rasvojen palaminen on epätäydellistä ja tällöin syntyy ketoaineita, joita erittyy virtsaan.

Insuliinin puute johtaa happomyrkytykseen ja lopulta diabeettiseen koomaan, kun ketoaineiden pitoisuus elimistössä nousee hyvin korkealle. Happomyrkytyksen kehittyminen ehkäistään riittävällä verensokerin omaseurannalla ja mittaamalla ketoaineet virtsasta tarvittaessa. Ketoaineita on hyvä mitata sairauden, stressin tai raskauden yhteydessä sekä silloin kun verensokeri on toistuvasti yli 15 mmol/l. Ketoainetestin ollessa positiivinen, ota välittömästi yhteys diabeteshoitajaan tai lääkäriin.

• pese kätesi vedellä ja saippualla
• ota varovaisesti yksi liuska pakkauksesta siten, ettei se rikkoudu tai vahingoitu
• kerää virtsanäyte kuppiin
• kasta nopeasti testiliuskan alaosa (testialue) kupissa olevaan virtsaan
• tarkista 15 sekunnin kuluttua testiliuskan väri ja vertaa sitä pakkauksen mukana tulevaan värikarttaan

Huomioitavaa:

• Kun ota testiliuskan pakkauksesta, älä kosketa testiliuskan alaosaa
• tarkista tuotteen eräpäivä ennen testausta
• säilytä testiliuskat viileässä ja kuivassa paikassa
